imageFinding a band with catchy and infectious songs that stick in your head is diamond rare. Seattle Washington’s In Cahoots is exactly that kind of band. They will be releasing their highly anticipated EP, Dogland, on October 13th, and are celebrating with a record release party on October 17th at Conor Byrne in Seattle, Washington.

This feisty quartet, is lead by guitar-wielding chanteuse Christina Crammer — a vigilant disciple of JoanJett, Chrissie Hynde and Debbie Harry. Christina’s soaring vocals have a beautiful mix of “vixen and venom” that highlight her clever songwriting skills. Both a mixture of old-school punk and classic-rock riffage — the songs setup her sing-along choruses in a powerful way. She has sang backup for national acts like Courtney Love, and taught vocals at Seattle Rock School. Her song, Borrowed Time, won the 2013 rock category in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, and her song Secret Handshake, won best rock song at the 2013 Northwest Music Awards. Flanked by Rich Huston on bass, Brad Judy on lead guitar, and Dave Crossett on drums, In Cahoots is proudly releasing their 3rd record, Dogland.

This year has been a whirlwind for In Cahoots, who toured the west coast, appeared on the television show Band in Seattle, and made a stellar E.P. Songs on the self-released Dogland span a range of genres, from disco punk, to rock country twang, and landing hard with rock riffs and catchy hooks. All songs are marked by the bands infectious choruses and vivid lyrics. Recorded at Hall of Justice in Seattle, and produced by Andy Park, Dogland boasts soaring harmonies, honey coated vocals, and a rich tone and texture. The title of the album, as well as the cover art, is in reference to the bands history with dogs. Members of In Cahoots has been involved in many animal welfare organizations, and started the Humane Society benefit, Rock Out for Animals.

Christina Cramer and Rich Huston’s dogs have been an integral part of the band. Moxie the pug sits in at band practice and recording sessions, and has even hit the road with In Cahoots. She’s their mascot and biggest cheerleader, and is always by Christina’s side as she writes songs in her bathroom. Christina and Rich have also lost 4 dogs over the course of being in the band. This record is a tribute to their memory. The song Dogland is Christina’s imagining of dog heaven, and the lost dogs place there. In Cahoots will be joined on October 17th at Conor Byrne by Seattle music icon, Star Anna as well as twang rockers, Radio Nationals, who are reuniting for this show.
